Photo Challenge: Day 12 – A photo of something you love

A photo of something you love. I…

I love life! I love life with my family, with my friends, with me, with my zoom-zoom, working from home, living close to the beach, living in SoCal, having the knowledge I have, being able to learn quickly, music, movies, reading, dancing, swimming, rollerskating, just being able to be active. Breathing, seeing, talking, thinking, loving, hating, crying, feeling, etc. I might dislike the rough times, while I’m going through them, but once they’re over I’m happy again, and hopefully I’ve gleaned something from that, and all other experiences.

I…just…LOVE…life!

Tuesdays With Morrie

Tuesdays With Morrie

I just added this book to my Amazon shopping cart. It was suggested by Garr Reynolds on his posterous blog here: Garr’s Posterous Blog

He recently experienced the passing of his mother, and someone he knows suggested the book to him. In recounting his trip to the U.S. to see his mother, he posts this quote from the book:

“Death is only one thing to get over. Living unhappily is something else. So many of the people who come to visit me are unhappy. Why? Well, for one thing, the culture we have does not make people feel good about themselves. We’re teaching the wrong things. And you have to be strong enough to say that if the culture doesn’t work, don’t buy it. Create your own. Most people can’t do it. They’re more unhappy that me—even in my condition.” — Morrie Schwartz

Every word above is true. It’s something I’ve always fought against. I’ve always “tried” to go against it, and now I will. I will now live to make myself happy, and not worry at all about what people think. It is my life, after all, and I need to be happy with it, and in it.

This is also a book I wish I’d known about before my aunt passed on. But now I’ll have it for the rest of my life.

I’ll write a review of the book, and what it’s done for me, once I’ve read it.
